Difference and similarity of 'The Way Up To Heaven' and 'Lamb To The Slaughter'

'The Way Up To Heaven' tells the story of a woman named Mrs Foster having almost pathological fear of missing a train,a plane,a boat or even a theatre curtain.The thought of getting late would throw her into such a state of nerves that she would begin to twitch-a tiny vellicating muscle in the corner of the left eye.Her apprehension would in turn cause an obsession.Mr Foster,her husband,was irritated by this and he increased her misery by keeping her wait unnecessarily.In the end,Mrs Foster 'murdered' Mr Foster by leaving him trapped in the faulty lift.
''Lamb to the Slaughter'' is about a submissive wife named Mary Maloney.Her submissiveness has somehow irrritated her husband who wanted to forsake her.Unable to take the blow,she murdered her husband out of the heat of the moment.
The similarity is that in both stories,men dominate woman.Their wife serve them well and they have full control over them .Important decisions are also made by them.In both stories,the wives are submissive.There are also murders that take place in both stories,though the one in 'The Way Up To Heaven' is not a brutal  and a visible one and the 'murderer' does not think of ways to avoid the laws.The two stories also shows about the life of marriage and how it is maintained.It also teaches people not to follow the bad examples exemplified by the characters in the story and stay truthful to their wives.
The difference is that in 'The Way Up To Heaven',Mr Foster still ha some affection for her wife while in 'Lamb To The Slaughter',Patrick Maloney does not love his wife anymore.Mrs Foster is also a more tolerant and patient woman that is able to take the fact that his husband is conciously  and deliberately tormenting her,while Mary Maloney is unable to do so and murders her husband after knowing the cruel fact.
