Heightening tensions between South and North Korea and the United Nations

It seems that the Korean War may be waged again in time to come, brewing up World War 3 as North Korea
threatens to take military actions after it has been blamed for a ship sinking incident that has raised UN's and South's hackles and also heightening tension between the the two hostile states, who had developed bad blood since 1953 after the three-year Korean War in which the Communists from North invaded the south to seize the entire country, splitting the former Korea into two separate countries which do not see eye to eye and are at loggerheads on anything.
The South Korean ship,Cheonan, was sunk off the coast of South Korea about a month ago, taking 46 sailors with it.Investigations have presumed that North was the culprit. However, till now,North Korea still denies its fault, though the UN,Japan,South Korea and America has aggressively imposed fresh sanctions on North, condemning its actions "harmful" to the humanitarian world and denouncing it as a "rogue" state and agreeing that North should be taught a lesson.
Meanwhile,China,North's long-time ally and lifeline, does not intend to join the bombardment as it states that it would probe into further evidence before deciding what step to take next.It lastly also emphasises the significance of regional peace and that it is sitting on the fence for the time being.
I personally do not condone on North's behaviour. In this decade,North Korea has been actively churning out nuclear weapons in the name of self-defence to flaunt its military prowess, drawing global attention. While world superpowers like Russia and USA are attempting to cut down their nuke arsenals,North is doing the opposite. Its proliferation of nuclear weapons is a jeopardy to peace lest it should misuse them. Now,it is actually threatening regional peace and also hinting for a war which will lead to countless casualties. Its insolent, brazen behaviour has ever brought mankind every step closer to war,a violation of human rights and peace. The world has to come up with a pragmatic approach to eradicate this dire and acute problem.
